Simple and unobtrusive, this fireback will fit into any decor, from traditional to contemporary. The fireback has been an indispensable part of the fireplace tradition in Europe since the 15th Century. Firebacks are designed to rest on the floor of the hearth, but Fireback Supports may also be used to hold this fireback upright and raise it off the hearth if extra height is desired. All our firebacks are designed for use with both gas logs and wood burning fireplaces. Traditional Design: Simple and unobtrusive, these Plain Firebacks will fit into any decor, from traditional to contemporary. Heirloom Quality: Cast from solid iron, painted in matte black, this fireback is available in two sizes. Small Plain Fireback measures 19 ½”W x 15 ½”H x ¾” thick, Large measures 22 ½”W x 17 ¾”H x ¾” thick. Options: The Plain Firebacks may be used directly on the hearth floor, or with feet if additional height is desired.
